News From the Teen Room
at the Milne Library

The Teen Summer Reading program wrapped up as of August 11, and it seemed to be a major reading summer for the 'tweens and teens. Twelve prizes were won in our raffle drawings, which occurred each week. Three workshops were well attended: "Wearable Art,"  a paper sculpture workshop; "WilliNet Video Explorers," a workshop where teens created a half-hour TV program, which is currently being aired on WilliNet; "How Green is Your Town," a photography workshop around the theme of "green" living - a display of the photos and reception will be held at the library on Sept. 22.

A total of 36 teens were signed up for the program, up from last year.  Next year we're shooting for 50!  Hope you'll consider signing on and participating in some unusual workshops. During the school year we're hoping to offer some interesting programs too - another WilliNet workshop, and we're working on getting a cartoonist to present a hands-on program.  Keep your eyes on our site for more information and dates.
