About the Event

They say Gutenberg invented the printing press–not exactly. But what he did invent has essentially defined us. Master printer and type founder, Jim Walczak, and his daughter, Diana Walczak, will present a visual exploration of Gutenberg’s inventions and achievements through slides detailing that important time in the history of printing and showing what Jim and an extraordinary group of colleagues have created while utilizing and preserving historical printing technologies. Jim and Diana will also set up a press at the library to engage guests in a hands-on printing experience.
