We're open, but what is "normal" now?
What is still restricted?
  • The public is now allowed inside the building, but we encourage you to still use the hand sanitizing stations as you enter.

  • We are no longer quarantining your library returns. They will be checked in daily.

  • Library Takeout has closed. If you're uncomfortable coming inside the library, call us. We'll make arrangements for you to pick up your items out by the door.

  • Hold notifications have returned to the original process. When your item(s) arrive, you will be notified by a single email or phone call. You no longer have to wait for a second "checkout email" to pick up your item(s).

  • Returns can either go through the book drop outside, or be returned inside. We ask that you now return children's items to the Children's room, as before.

  • We are no longer charging fines on Williamstown items. Be aware that items from other libraries may still accrue fines.

  • Printing and photocopying fees are reinstated as before - 10 cents a page.

  • Public restrooms will be open and cleaned once a day, per state guidelines.

  • Masks are required within the library building at all times.

  • We ask that you please limit your time spent in the building. Come in, browse the shelves, and then check out - keeping socialization at a minimum.

  • We do have benches outside the front doors and front garden where you can sit and access our Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi also works in the parking lot.

  • Computer use has changed - we now only have three public computers, and your time will be limited to 30 minute sessions. They're located by the periodicals.

  • Toys and crafts in the Children's Room are still off limits and put away.

  • Meeting room use and large indoor gatherings are not permitted, for now.

Note: If you are not feeling well for any reason, we ask that you do not visit the Milne Public Library for the general health of our staff and your neighbors. Thank you!
