Since introducing Library Takeout, we have been streamlining our processes to provide you with the best possible service. We hope that the following information helps to clarify any questions that you may have.
I received an email that an item was checked out on my account, but I didn’t check anything out. What’s going on? If you receive an electronic checkout receipt, that means an item on your holds list is available for pickup during Library Takeout hours. We check out your items before placing them under our Library Takeout tent. Since interlibrary loan recently resumed, you may receive checkout notifications for items that you placed on hold many months ago. I received a checkout notification, but I no longer want the item. What should I do? If you no longer want a hold that’s ready for pickup, no worries. Simply contact the library, and we will check it in to remove it from your account. I returned some items a few days ago, but they're still showing up on my account. What's going on?
For the safety of staff and patrons, library materials are quarantined upon return. This means there will be a delay between when you return your items and when items are removed from your account. Please allow up to 7 days for items to be removed from your account. Any fines on those items will be automatically forgiven at check-in. If you receive a courtesy email shortly after returning your items, please disregard it.
How do I know if my items are ready for pickup? The only time an item is available for pickup is when it is checked out on your account. If an item is not checked out, it is not available for pickup. You will receive an electronic checkout receipt when your items are bagged for Library Takeout. My items are checked out. When can I pick them up? Pickup hours are Monday-Thursday, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. , with NEW extended hours on Wednesdays from 12p to 6pm!
Why am I getting automatic renewal emails AFTER I've returned my items?
If you receive a courtesy email shortly after returning your items, please disregard it. Please allow up to 7 days for items to be removed from your account. Rest assured that they will be checked in soon, and any fines on those items will be automatically forgiven.
I received a hold notification, but I did not receive an electronic checkout receipt. Are my items ready? Please confirm that your items are checked out before stopping by the library. You can confirm the checkout status of your items by logging into your account or by calling the library. Please disregard the “Ready for Pickup” tab in your account. The “Ready for Pickup” tab refers to our traditional holds delivery system and is not relevant for Library Takeout. To confirm the checkout status of your items, click the “Checked Out” tab. To log into your account, your username is your barcode, and your password will most likely be your last name in ALL CAPS.
