About the Event

A haiku is a short poem consisting of three lines (1st line: 5 syllables; 2nd line: 7 syllables; 3rd line: 5 syllables).  With these seventeen syllables, the poet draws an image in the mind of the reader of a moment in nature.  This April, we will be creating "Guessing" haiku poetry about an animal or a place in nature.  Let's see if our readers can guess who or what your poem is about!

Here is an example by our Teen Librarian.  Can you guess the animal? Click HERE for the answer!

Cutting through the air,

Wings as wide as man is tall

Carry on, skyward

Thoughout April, stop by the library to pick up a poetry month packet or visit our website blog post for more details.  We will have a prize drawing for kids, teens and adults for gift cards to local Spring Street businesses!

Thank you to the Friends of the Milne Library for sponsoring this event.
