Meet Our Trustees

Micah Manary, Board Chair & J-IDEA Committee Member
Term Expiration: 2028
Hello! I am a high school math teacher, parent of two young children, Williamstown firefighter, and a current member of the Milne library board of trustees. I have been a trustee since 2019, currently serving as the chair of the board as well as on the library diversity subcommittee. Our library is a powerful institution that provides equitable access to knowledge and services for all members of our community. With storytimes for children, adult learning opportunities, and free internet hotspots for any community members, we are so much more than simply a building full of amazing books. I am always excited to help expand the scope of the library, including leading us in areas such as multilingual resources and youth education. I am also excited to continue heading the effort to update every library policy so that it aligns with our town's standards and values. I am honored to continue to serve as a transparent and accessible member of the board, and to help guide the library in its mission to provide and protect free access to knowledge for everyone.

Anna Halpin-Healy, Board Treasurer
Term Expiration: 2027
I have enjoyed the Milne Library since I first visited at about eight years old. I became interested in serving on the library's Board of Trustees when considering ways to more actively foster the elements of our community I care most about. I believe libraries are an important anchor to a community and am enjoying learning more about all the great things our library has to offer.
My most-checked out genre: cookbooks.

Katy Evans, J-IDEA Committee Board Liaison
Term Expiration: 2026
I became a library Trustee in 2023 to support the already amazing work of our library staff and board. Coming from a long line of educators, I earned my Ph.D. in English and taught literature and writing at the college level for many years. I am currently the Director of Accessible Education at Williams College, supporting students with disabilities and helping to create inclusive and accessible learning environments. I believe public libraries build vibrant, resilient, and compassionate communities and want to ensure Milne patrons have the freedom to explore diverse works of art, information sources, and programs for years to come.

Ben Lee-Cohen, Board Vice Chair & Building and Grounds Committee Member
Term Expiration: 2028
As a parent of three kids who love our library, I see what an amazing resource it is for families in Williamstown. I work in technology (currently at Dropbox) and studied Physics at Williams before getting my Information Science degree at Berkeley. After 15 years working in software and tech startups, I'm excited to help our library stay both welcoming and forward-looking. I believe the library sits at the heart of what makes Williamstown special - it's where our community comes together across all ages and backgrounds, where everyone has equal access to knowledge, and where connections between neighbors grow stronger. I'm honored to serve as a trustee and help keep our library thriving.

Robin Lenz, Building and Grounds Committee Member
Term Expiration: 2028
Robin Lenz holds a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science and was the chef and owner of the former Williamstown restaurant, Robin's Restaurant, praised by the New York Times in 1991 for its unforgettable dining experiences. In addition to culinary endeavors, Robin is dedicated to teaching and finds joy in gardening, nurturing both minds and plants alike. An avid reader and explorer of diverse cultures, Robin holds library cards on three continents, embodying a passion for learning and global understanding.

Bridget Spann
Term Expiration: 2026
Our public library is an amazing resource available to our entire community. I became a trustee because a well-resourced library with a diverse collection of educational, informational, and entertainment materials curated by skilled and enthusiastic library staff is essential for town members to be lifelong learners, enrich their lives, and participate in our democracy.

Katherine Myers, Board Secretary
Term Expiration: 2028
I first moved to Williamstown from Washington, DC, in 1981, to attend Williams and after a few years away, ultimately settled here, working first for Storey Publishing, then MASS MoCA, and now at Williams. In our town government there are a many jobs to fill and I believe its incumbent on all citizens to serve if and when we can. I'm proud to be the daughter of a librarian, a lifelong library visitor, and a parent who passed on love of libraries (particularly the Milne Library) to our daughter. I am honored to have been elected and delighted to be able to support Williamstown's library in whatever way I can.
