This summer, the David & Joyce Milne Public Library is participating in the TED Democracy Live program. The main event is a full day of virtual talks about democracy on Saturday, June 13. We will broadcast this event here and all are welcome to attend! The schedule is as follows:
Session 3: Forging Ahead at 4 PM to 5:30 PM EDT (the library will be open late for this last session)
See the full list of speakers here. Please note this livestream is not available virtually from home; only participating libraries and other groups will livestream the talks in front of a live audience in Philadelphia.
TED Democracy and Founding Futures have also awarded us a grant which allows us to host quite a few other events, including virtual author talks, two revolutionary-era reenactors, and a film showing paired with a craft. Check out the schedule below!

The cozy cat vibe is what baited me into Meowdoku, but the actual rules are what trapped me. You’re not just tapping tiles randomly. You have to place one cat in every colored zone while making sure none of them line up horizontally, vertically, or sit next to each other. It’s way smarter than it looks.
I really liked how this post connects America’s 250th anniversary to the importance of remembering local history, not just major national events. It made me think about a semester when I was researching historical topics while also managing several overlapping deadlines, and honestly, it got overwhelming fast. I ended up using Essay Writing Service to stay on track with assignments so I could spend more time actually engaging with the research instead of rushing through it. Looking back, meaningful history feels easier to appreciate when you have the space to truly absorb the stories behind it. Its nice post.
