May Events Roundup!
Phew! We've been pleased to host a bunch of exciting events at the Milne this month, some of which we have yet to report on!
Every other Saturday, on the lawn in front of the library, patrons have enjoyed "Tap for Joy" with Jenny Herzog.
If the thought of tap-dancing tickles your fancy, don't miss out on the next two sessions coming up on May 28th and June 11th!
Midway through the month, Tom Ricardi brought a selection of fascinating birds to share with our patrons, along with an informative talk on raptor conservation.
Patrons got up close and personal with magnificent birds of all shapes and sizes, including my personal favourite - the turkey vulture!
Tom Ricardi runs the Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Center in Conway, Massachusetts, where just this winter he nursed an injured snowy owl back to health. Just one of the many birds he has helped!
Most recently, Rhonda Fazio hosted "Dying to Wear It" and a group of enthusiastic patrons took the opportunity to get hands on with dyeing their own silk scarves!
In an evening, patrons learned the history and techniques behind dyeing, and walked away with an eye-catching scarf of their own.

In the end, my balance was a bit lower, but the fluidity of the platform is highly commendable. It doesn't take up much space on my phone, everything loads almost instantly, and the design is quite intuitive, considering mobile networks here in Canada.
I was in the reception area of a local record label, just waiting for a simple distribution contract to be reviewed and processed. The bureaucracy was enormous, and the assistant behind the desk asked me to wait and sit on those hard plastic chairs. Wanting to distract myself from the slowness of the music industry, I grabbed my mobile. I opened casino century and focused on the screen, trying to ignore the endless wait.
