Manga is a style of comic or graphic novel that originated in Japan, and has seen a great increase in sales and popularity in the USA. It is known for its detailed black-and-white artwork, and many popular stories that are adapted into animation (anime).
As with any form of storytelling, manga represents a huge variety of reading experiences - from the light and breezy misadventures of Hakumei & Mikochi, to the emotional story of life, death and mental health explored in Orange. If you have any questions about the content of a manga you are interested in, feel free to ask us!
You can also visit the website No Flying No Tights for advice on age appropriate manga. It breaks down popular comics, anime and manga by age recommendations and/or genre breakdowns, and is a great way to find new titles.
